On September 5, Chinese steelmaker Chongqing Iron and Steel Co. (Chongqing Steel), a subsidiary of Chongqing Iron and Steel (Group) Co., announced that in August this year it produced 484,218 mt of finished steel, up 20.64 percent year on year and up 1.14 percent month on month.
In the January-August period, the overall finished steel output of Chongqing Steel totaled 3.6473 million mt, compared to 3.315 million mt produced during the same period last year.
